Radio Controlled timepiece uses radio technology to receive time code from radio signal boardcasting stations and synchronizes the local time with it. The time signals within the radio transmittion are derived from atomic clocks in the radio time signal broadcasting stations. There are a number of long-wave radio transmitters around the world, DCF77 (Germany), HPG (Switzerland), JJY (Japan), NPL or MSF (United Kingdom), TDF (France) and WWVB (United States), etc. Despite there is a transit delay, upon successful receptions of the signals and synchronization, the time are normally accurate to a second. If there are not receptions, the clock keeps track of the time just like any ordinary clock without losing it functionality, and it will synchronize the time until the next successful receptions of the time signal.
